Great news for American jobs – auto parts job numbers are up. A new article from IndustryWeek reports on the gains in this sector in the past five years. Automotive component manufacturing and distribution jobs in the U.S. have risen 19% since 2012. That number has jumped from 734,000 in 2012 to 871,000.

Technology is a factor now more than it ever has been. As consumers want more tech advances in their vehicles, manufacturers distributors adjust accordingly. “Never before has the mobility industry had to embrace so many advances in vehicle technology so quickly and on a global scale,” said Steve Handshuch, president and CEO of the Motor & Equipment Manufacturers Association (MEMA). “These numbers show that MEMA and its member companies are driving innovation, jobs, and economic growth in the U.S. by combining manufacturing and distribution and technology.”
